Hankook Tire Corp., and Corsa Motorsports have reached an agreement for Hankook to be a sponsor and the exclusive tire supplier for Corsa Motorsports and will compete in the 2008 American Le Mans Series' GT2 class. The sponsorship within the Series will be a showcase for Hankook performance tire technology.

It is the logical next step in the marketing and brand-building efforts to position Hankook as a market-driven, technology-focused global brand.

"Hankook has been a wonderful partner in our IMSA Lites series, and not only will they continue in that role but we welcome them with open arms as they step up into the American Le Mans Series' ultra-competitive GT2 class," said Scott Atherton, Series President and CEO. "There is no more relevant motorsports test for manufacturers - and that certainly goes for tire manufacturers - than developing and proving the technology, quality and durability than in the GT2 class of the American Le Mans Series. I want to congratulate and thank Hankook for their great past investment and especially for this new initiative in our Series."

The No. 48 Corsa Motorsports Ferrari F430 LMGT will begin the 2008 campaign with Hankook Tires on March 15 at the Mobil 1 Twelve Hours of Sebring in Sebring, Fla.

New Nationwide Professional Racing Series
TOOELE VALLEY, UTAH (October 30, 2007) – Today at the Specialty Equipment Manufacturers Association (SEMA) Convention in Las Vegas, Miller Motorsports Park, in partnership with Ford Racing, announced a new professional racing series that will provide competitors an affordable way to go racing with a V8-powered, rear-wheel-drive car.
 
The Ford Racing Mustang Challenge for the Miller Cup presented by BFGoodrich Tires will be a one-make “spec” series utilizing the new Ford Mustang FR500S fitted with BFGoodrich g-Force R1 tires. The Ford Mustang FR500S is a limited-production, race-prepared version of the Ford Mustang GT that was co-developed by Miller Motorsports Park and Ford Racing Technology over a year of competition in the Miller Park Racing Association and race-school use at the track’s Ford Racing High Performance Driving School.
 
The FR500S starts life as a production-line Ford Mustang, and is built on a special assembly line without the seats, carpet, noise insulation and other interior fitments that are normally included in a street car. The car is fitted with a full rollcage and shipped to Miller Motorsports Park, where final assembly – including safety equipment and competition power and suspension upgrades – is completed. A total of 77 cars have been built to date, and more will be built as demand dictates.
 
Priced at $75,000 race-ready, the 325-hp Ford Mustang FR500S is the first racing car in the long history of the Ford Motor Company to be built on an assembly line. It represents an entry-level rung on a ladder of racing Mustangs that includes the $129,900, 420-hp FR500C as raced in the Grand-Am KONI Challenge Series, and the $250,000, 525-hp FR500GT that has been homologated for use in the GT class of the Grand-Am Rolex Sports Car Series starting in 2008.
 
The Grand American Road Racing Association, based in Daytona Beach, Fla., will sanction the Ford Racing Mustang Challenge for the Miller Cup presented by BFGoodrich Tires, which will serve as a support race to many of the top professional road racing series in North America. The inaugural season will consist of eight races at high-profile venues throughout the United States and Canada. A schedule of events and television package will be announced in the near future.
 
Each race weekend for the Ford Racing Mustang Challenge for the Miller Cup presented by BFGoodrich Tires will include two 30-minute practice sessions, a 25-minute qualifying session and a 45-minute “sprint” race. Drivers will compete for purses and prizes totaling $300,000. Points will be awarded through 25th place, with 30 points to win and an individual point for pole position. The series will be open to drivers with a national-level racing license.

Safety Upgrades, Repaving Underway at Miller Motorsports Park
TOOELE VALLEY, UTAH (October 24, 2007) – The racing season at Miller Motorsports Park may be over, but that doesn’t mean activity at the track has slowed down at all.
 
The state-of-the-art facility is busy making improvements and safety upgrades in anticipation of the 2008 season, and working hard to get as much done as possible before winter weather sets in.
 
One big project that has already been accomplished is the complete repaving of the 2.183-mile West Circuit, a job that was done under warranty by the paving contractor to remedy some long-term wear issues and repair abnormal wear along the seams.
 
Other ongoing projects are safety upgrades that will help the track maintain its reputation as the safest road racing circuit in North America, many of which are being instituted following recommendations made by Claude Danis, Safety Director for the FIM (Fédération Internationale de Motocyclisme), the international sanctioning body for motorcycle racing which sanctions the FIM SUPERBIKE WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP (SBK), during a visit to the track this past July. The cost of these upgrades, over and above the repaving project, will approach $750,000.
 
· Following the success of adding paved runoff areas in Turns 1, 5, 6 and 15 in the Spring of 2007, additional paved runoff areas are being added to the  Tooele and Club House corners, plus a significant increase in the size of the gravel traps at those turns;
· The barriers and tire walls at the exit of the final corner (“Release”) and the entrance to the front straight are being realigned;
· Extensive addition of curbing at several locations; and
· A new pit exit at the end of the West pit complex is being built to meet current requirements set forth by the FIM.
 
In addition, 1 million square feet of topsoil is being laid down as part of an ongoing seeding program to encourage the establishment of permanent grass around the circuit.
 
“While many of these upgrades have been part of an ongoing program designed to keep Miller Motorsports Park at the leading edge of track safety in North America,” said MMP CEO/General Manager Alan Wilson, “these and other improvements follow Miller Motorsports Park’s commitment to SBK to provide a venue that meets and exceeds FIM standards.”
 
Racing at Miller Motorsports Park will resume in April, and a complete 2008 schedule will be released soon. The inaugural visit of the FIM SUPERBIKE WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP, marking the championship’s return to North America after an absence of four years, is scheduled for the weekend of May 30-June 1, 2008.
